Safety is the one thing I'll tell a stranger about. I've seen people ride with loose skewers. I don't say anything when it's used as a screw, unless I'm asked.

I fight a second one.

When a kid's helmet is about to fall off their heads--too loose, forehead showing, helmet backwards.

I'll let adults do that no problem. When they've put their kids helmets on dangerously, I feel I should say something.

It's performed and shot by Damon Rinard. (He designed frames for at least Cervelo, and now Cannondale)

here's what he told CyclingTips about it.

“I shot it because I had just gotten my first helmet cam (they were new back then, before GoPro) and I was just setting it up,” Rinard says of the video. “The shimmy was just for fun. I re-made the video a few times, riding back up the hill and shimmying on the way down again, adjusting the camera between runs.”

Spoke with the Everesting guy yesterday. He says that July everestings will likely outpace June's numbers.

If you want to dream about personal Everesting, the site has a calculator so you can take a Strava segment and find out how many times you need to do it. https://everesting.cc/app/lap-calculator/

19.8 laps of Bear Mountain, totaling 301.4km would do it.

If I could average 16kph on the climb, 51kph on the descent, their calculator says it would take me 12:22, but that's with no stopping.

yeah, it's tricky, Bear is not great for it, that's part of what Gaimon mentions in the video, around 12% 1km or so, kinda exactly what Contador did. As it would shorten the distance, and speed down the hill. Contador's effort was 130ish KM, Emma Pooley was 135ish KM also 13%

I bet you could go bonkers and do the Apline boat basin to maybe the first right hand bend about a zillion times. The descent and turn around spot would be safe.

Speaking from experience, there's a sweet spot between where the climb is steep enough that you're not wasting time, but not so steep you're blowing yourself out. I spent wayyyyyyyyy too much time not climbing when I everested and it it just added a lot of extra time and made me pointlessly wasted energy pedaling through flat sections.

Kinda tempted to do it again on a better climb, but then again, also never want to do it again.

Basically, how much elevation can you gain in a hour, with the caveat that you must end at exactly the same elevation that you start.
