Anyone know if/when the Kissena water bottles are going to arrive?  I couldn't find a thread for it so I'm posting here.  Thanks.

Fixed
perhaps we should move the "close encounters of the (*#(*&$ kind" thread out of the racing category.  i always forget where it is and have to search for it.  it's currently in racing group, where it fits in as well as this guy:

For some reason I'm no longer ( as of yesterday) getting my forum stuff pushed to my e-mail.  Is anyone else experiencing that?
yeahhhhhh......they didn't tell you???

I got a bunch of them at once yesterday.  Looks like it's fixed now?
@Jules- E-mail push still constipated over here - as in nothing yet... : {
I'm getting reports of people getting logged out too frequently; it's happening to me too.  We have a ticket open with Vanilla.
fixed, allegedly
no bugs for a whole month!

Well, here's a doosy. My Android tablet under 4.2.2 doesn't let me type in the message box. Keyboard pops up transiently and then immediately disappears. I can use external bluetooth keyboard, but not built in. Both Chrome and Firefox work in the same  way.
I have the same problem @Stokes when I use Chrome (for a while now).  But it works if I access the site via the generic internet browser.  Its the one that has the blue globe icon that comes with all Android products.  I'm typing on a Samsung galaxy tab this way.
My custom rom seems to have done away with that browser, but the dolphin browser seems to short of work.
Nevertheless, chrome and Firefox used to work and should work, so maybe worth a bug report (Jules?)

Ah January.  When page views and comments go down 90% from their midsummer peaks.  Le sigh.

We need a Hotlist for winter trainer hours...
@Jules-That's surprising.  For me the relationship seems inverse..i.e., the more riding I'm doing, the less yacking (no relation to Yacks or Yaks).
Race reports (or lack thereof) and comments about them would seem to be the culprit here.
I'd say it's more the congratulating each other for kicking ass!
Hey I was going to post this in the thread that recently inspired my comment, but I couldn't bear Jules telling me that the comment was not appropriate for that thread. ;-)

Did someone cut Stokes' grant money or something? Dude is GRUMPY.

Related, this is not the first time this has happened to me, but can we all agree that baring disgusting profanity, rudeness, etc., all questions/comments are more or less welcome on the forum?

If you personally think we're being dopey and should just "google it" or send emails to customer service  or whatever. That's fine. Then don't answer and let us suffer in the vacuum of your silence. No need to tell us we're dumb and should look it up ourselves.
@Marc you are 100% correct; all comments (barring rudeness or profane behavior) are welcome.  That said, the answers to comments fall under the same rule.   "You should be able to find this yourself" is neither rude nor harassing.

To be honest, I didn't learn about Sheldon Brown, Bike Tires Direct, Cross Results or many other valuable online resources until I asked a question... (I couldn't find L&C Cup races on Bikereg for 18 months...)

In general if someone posts a comment that you feel is a bit "off" it's almost always better to reach out to that person directly with a polite, "Hey, that sounded a bit offside to me, did I miss something?" in person, in email if you don't see them often

It's a sad but true reality that we all mis-read the tone intended in an email or Forum post all the time; it's the nature of the beast.  We're all on the same team and 99.99999% of the time you read a comment that leaves you saying "WUT?!?" it was not intended to be offensive or disparaging.

Yes, they have been doing that since before sequester. And then they terminated my program at the NIH and told me my new grant application sucks. It is generally a tough time for scientists.

But any rudeness you discern is  meant to be tongue in cheek. Please don't take offense.
dude.....its your own fault for not seeing the forest through the microscope. ..the writings been on the wall for years.

you guys are done for

There is a weird thing about the whole spoiler tag thing. Namely, when I get emails with messages posted in the forum. They come one of two ways. I have no idea why they come both ways, or what makes them come this way or that.

way 1: A message simply announcing someone has commented on a thread, that person's name and a hyperlink to the thread (I happen to notice that ALL of Ragot's messages come this way)

way 2: A message with the entire body of the text/message. In this case, the spoiler button doesn't appear rather you see the coding format around that what is to be hidden.

I've asked Vanilla to explain the behavior but they haven't been able to.  It is not specific to the spoiler tag though.

We'd like to transition one of the Board's At-Large positions to CTO next year; if anyone has the skills & time to help this year, please contact me offline.

I did a search and couldn't find the answer...

How does one create a poll on the forum?
@Marc, way up on the upper left hand corner under the KCC logo there is "New Discussion" with which you can create a new discussion thread or poll.  I believe everyone has the option, but let us know if not.
