Not sure whether it's just my profile, but for some reason when updates are made to certain channels/chats they are not flagged as "new". For example, I didn't see anything in the Branchbrook channel yesterday, and even right now it says that the last update was March 2nd, which is definitely wrong.
Wondering whether it's just me or a system thing. If the former, I will shout at my computer right away.

Hey Folks - I'm slowly going through the old online archives - and the stuff I'm finding is PURE GOLD. Be sure to keep an eye on the twitter feed (I'll try and put the "best of" up there) or the Flickr page where this stuff is in the History Set

quick Q;
with the new default layout some things are never seen on the front page. For example, in the racing category, you see the top 5. but the top 5 are not by most recent post.
Is there a way we can give weight to most recent posts to push them to the front page? I just discovered that there are discussion I've never read back on the second page because they never bumped to the top 5, even they have more recent posts.
any way to fix that?

I agree about ordering things chronologically according to posting history. This is normal.
This should be (and used to be) the default. If you click on "Discussions" along the top, then that does this. However, there seems to be some bugginess, because the Branchbrook thread (at least) was not elevated nor highlighted in bold after the newer posts yesterday.
With regard to the stickies. At least on some computers, you can hover your mouse over that box and a secret dial shows up in the upper right corner. If you click on that dial (gear) then you can 'dismiss' it. Then the sticky resumes a normal status on a user-by-user basis.

Branchbrook thread seems to be stuck on March 2 as the date of the most recent posting - which is obviously a bug. Other threads (like this one) seem to be updating normally.

It would be easier if all usernames had no spaces. Currently, only old school members can be addressed with the @ sign. Not new users with spaces in their automatically-generated usernames. This can make communicating and coordinating more difficult

Joking aside, I am reminded of a nifty feature. You can view the threads in the forum three ways:
1) "Old Skool" with the newest at the top, categories-be-damned. You'll never miss a new post. Click on the "Discussions" button at the top and your view will look like this:

2) Click the "Kissena" logo at the top and see the threads by category; most recent FIVE are shown. Easier to keep track of but you may miss posts in a very busy category.

3) the "Best Of" view. Click "Best-of" at the top and see things in a sort of tumblr-esque melange. I'm not sure how things are chosen to get there - I think it's page views.

Consider it a perk of old-skooldom. The problems with no-space names are that there are like ten guys named "Mike" and some people's names don't lend themselves to concatination.
In the past we used alias' which are neat, but in the end it's impossible to administer a forum when you're trying to figure out who "odysseus" is and why is his (or her) email "manlove"... is it s a different login from "homer" etc.
We're on the 3rd iteration of the forum and when I inherited it there was all kinds of mess to clean up with duplicate or obscure users.
Consider it the (small) price to pay for a well run forum. You can still message people directly and "@Jules" or "@Brendan" still gets the point across.
Now, if anyone can get me an automatic-Simpsons-mem-anator then we can take over the world.

The posting times on the forum appear to be off. But I can't figure out which time zone they're in. +4 hours from us, I think. Is there a way to reset the local time for the forum?

Search seems to be broken. I searched on "normanzo" and it says "no results" --of course, in terms of racing, that's absolutely true, but I don't think you guys installed that Vanilla Performance Analyzer yet...
Anyhow, nothing seems to get any results.

whilst we are on the topic of the forum, has anyone been experiencing a problem where the "unread" counter in certain topics seems to reset itself? for example, this morning i looked online and the tech/gear discussion thread suggested that there were 300+ unread messages. but when i clicked into the thread, there was in fact only one unread post.
