Will def be there, y'all. Will try to bring a grom or two.
I should be there today as well.
I will try to make it out at 1 today as well.
I'm not going to be able to make it... On my way back from this morning's ride just now when someome in front of me inexplicably decided to brake to a stop. My front wheel met their rear derailur and end result is a front-wheel write-off. Fuck.

Noooo!  Mark, that honks!  Who was this jabroni?
I have a front wheel to lend you. stokes@NYU.edu

I broke my frame riding down Riverside Dr one time. Came to a quick stop in a group and the guy behind me tangled his brake lever with my rear triangle and broke the seat stay. All very slow motion, but with spectacular results. Got it fixed by Calfee and now it is as good as new ($$)
Good times today.

Dave V, Whitey, Mark (with his spare wheel), Hubbs, Stearns, Adam and company took about a half dozen new prospects around prospect.  Everyone seemed very simpatico.

Midway through we were joined by Kieran who rescued me from being the only "ginger beard" in the group.

I ran into Ross (secret training plan K) afterward and he dropped my going up the hill as I did what I am calling "futile tempo"

What the What?
Is Ross training for the training camp?
Cheers for organising / patrolling the ride Jules, it was good fun. Sorry I snuck away without being able to say cheerio, Jeff, Adam and Dave S were off the back chatting when my time to leave came. It was good to put more faces to names! See you all out again soon I hope.

Yours in ginger beard solidarity, KL
Were there any women amongst the new prospects?  On Thursday I sold an Edge 705 thru Craigslist to a woman named Laura, a triathlete w/a running injury who wants to get into road racing and lives in the Slope. She said she was pretty interested in joining. I told her about today's ride and the next two tentatively scheduled ones.

@Jules ... My friend, Dennis, wants to sign up after today. I gave him your jules.roazen@gmail.com address.

@dstokes You have it all wrong! It's training for the training I should be doing for training camp ;)

Ha ha William is wrong!

He's a wrong-head!

Well this just got awkward!

World's were moved to 2:30pm tomorrow.  I want to watch, so between that and the cold weather, I'm thinking we should keep this thing short and sweet.  1 hour ride, chat on the bike with new members, then peace out to drink a few tripels.
@WilliamDC
Quandry! Might you know which channel the World's are playing on and/or know any bars that will be showing it? Probably http://buildingonbond.com/
i'm going to Mueller's office on Spring/Lafayette to watch on their giant, novelty, oversized monitors.

i believe its streaming on the USAC's youtube channel or something . . . a "real" channel, if by "real" you mean broadcasted on the boobtube.

wanna come?!?

Louisville World's Broadcast Schedule
@WilliamDC
Damn! Phil isn't showing it at Building on Bond neither.
Thanks for boobtube invite, I would love to join but meeting in Brooklyn... lemme see... got Joe's digits if things change.

sorry duders

i'm out this afternoon - too cold and too much baloney on my plate today

Great ride today. We had 8 new members (2 exisiting, 6 keen to sign on) with Mark, Rick, Eric and myself representing. The club Facebook page yielded some results—kudos to the membership committee!

Some particularly brave attire. Must have been "feels like 15" out there with blustering winds and Hard Man Sam™ (see picture) with no gloves and a Rapha shell stuck it out for 45 minutes. Most are joining to learn the ropes and learn to race, a couple of trackies too. Got back home, handed myself up a beer and watched the World's... well played Nuys.

It was a good turnout, and I don't know how he rode without gloves.  I was wearing two pair and my fingers still got numb..
No-gloves guy was a trooper. We need to sign him up -- his threshold is clearly above a regular man's.
