Spa Sport accessories from Charlie Issendorf
Gotta second the recommendation of Spa Sports. I got a pair of their leg warmers a few years back. The only thing that apparently wears out is the printing on the legs that lets you know they're spa sports. Otherwise as good as new, and 1/2 the cost of everything else out there.

Fleece shoe covers are awesome for those wet chilly days in the early season races when you don't want to ruin your nice shoes with road grime but full neoprene shoe covers are totally overkill.
They've been floating around the internet for $40 recently, but $30 is the lowest I've seen on Michelin Pro 3 tires and finally strikes me as a "good" value.

Yeah, I know it's Rap$a but I still like the sentiment.

Wait, you get 50% off a new one but have to GIVE BACK your old one? Lame lame lame. You could probably sell your old one, if it's actually that much bigger now, and make enough money to save more than 50% on a new one. Does this include size increases? I'm going XL.

Did anyone who bought their $250+ Oakley CX auction benefit sunglasses get a cut of the purse from J-Pow winning nationals?! You helped!

Lame. Super lame. Weird too. I swear they were $30 when I first posted that link.
I saw $30 earlier today
they're on bonktown for another six minutes at $29.99
And another thing...according to a scrolling ad on Velonews.com, the tires are $30, but click on the link and you get linked to the item page which has them for $45. Shady. False advertising for sure. I guess this is the kind of thing that happens when small time gets bought out by big time.
Was Competitive Cyclist bought out?
it was acquired by Sheinhardt Wig Company in an extremely hostile takeover

many Bothans died . . .

on the plus side, they are now official GMC and Huffy dealers!
I heard Kabletown of Kreutztown PA made a hostile takeover bid for Competitive Cyclist. Now there is a proxy fight between the Sheinhardt Wig Company and Kabletown.
Castelli bib knickers, 50% off, all sizes still available

Seems like a good deal:

Anybody tried/have one? Looks like a cross between the weight of the Prolight and the adjustability of the Ionos? My Catlike seems to have some styrofoam breakage on the interior...
this warms my heart...some 23 mm rims are in my future:

Are the Pro race 3's getting phased out with the Pro 4's now available? For half price I'm going to buy these till they run out!
We are establishing a relationship with Challenge and their tires are EXCELLENT. Next to tubies, nothing feels better to me - the Vittoria's are close, as are Veloflex, but the Challenge Forte's are amazing.
I haven't tried Challenge tires, but would like to... when might a discount be available? weeks, months?
Mueller,
THe blowout of teh Pro 3 is for the arrival of the Pro 4. I

All,
I've ridden the Challenges. Nice tires. Definitely roll well and fit into that "open tubular" category. I'd put them up against Vittoria and Veloflex any day.
Hell yeah. Coach Ragot scores again. Imma start calling you Gretzky.

Speaking of, anyone ever go to Rangers games? I love hockey and never been to MSG.
Thank you, Eric.
To really make it ride well, we should have latex inner tubes, yes? Does anyone have a recommendation on brands?
I ride the green michelin ones...very nice, just use lots of powder when installing them
Yacks,
Michelin is said to be discontinuing the latex tubes. However, Vittoria makes them for sure and Challenge used to sell them in the US. Both Vittoria and Challenge latex comes in red, so perhaps the tubes are/were sourced from the same factory.

Agree with Yack on the talcum powder. I shake it into the tire, then rub it around. The point is that you don't want rubber sticking to rubber.

William....William...what, no strange sexual innuendo from you?
sorry

i was in the bathroom

let me just go through my notes . . . i'm sure i have something
Do we have a shop sponsor anymore? I need someone on the island to glue my tubulars...something I will not attempt. yacks
We are working on a shop sponsor. Brickwell was a 2 year deal and they didn't fulfill their second year of the deal. They were good, but we are working on better.

I think I heard keith does it nicely and cheaply.
