Nosson -

I can feel the flames from the crowd coming on now - but Saris has a new "powermeter" that is a heart rate strap and it extrapolates power from there. around 200 I believe, and with our group discount, lower than that.

From a data standpoint, it may be lacking, but its something.

ALSO - you could train with just heart rate, speed and cadence, for now until money becomes an object you have more of.

@ Nossen: any power tap (or measuring device) will do but none of them are mandatory. Prices are all online, and you can apply the club discount TO the online price if you order through the club per Mike's post above. Make sure you're paid in full member with a waiver :)

(Happy watt counting)
JP may still have that banging deal on his wired SRM. 650 all in IIRC.
Good point - you can always also surf the used equipment market. There are lots of powermeters (srm, quarq, powertap) on ebay, craigslist, etc
Nosson,

I don't know what your money situation is, but my gut reaction is to recommend you save any money you might spend on a power meter, and put it towards gas money and or lodging at some bitching races this year. When you are just getting started, I think it's more important to go out there and race and gain experience. Power meters are extremely helpful for those who are being coached and have very limited time to train. Again, I don't know all of your situation, and this may apply to you (have a coach and have very limited time), but I feel like you would get more value out of your money this year, by getting to all the races you can.
Another wrinkle is that the cyclops website doesn't appear to have any prices for the older versions of their hubs.
Kinda rough to say 45% off "unknown"

Hey club,

Amidst all this talk of sponsorship, I thought it would be cool to post our new sponsorship packet for those who haven't seen it.

This was designed by Ros and his company, and written and managed by me with lots of input and help from others, especially Dan, Mike, and Myles.

It contains some pretty cool facts about the club that you may not know, so check it out.

Well, never mind, I can't get the PDF small enough to post here, and I can't delete the damn post above, so I guess you don't get to see it.

Neuvation

KissenaTeam - Type that in the coupon code field and the discount should show up. Please don't tell any non team members about this and also tell them not to tell others.

Mike is our Cyclops deal still in place?
The Ragot, thanks.
Just curious - I seem to recall @Jim mentioning that he had talked to the Neuvation guy recently who quoted a Kissena discount of 20% on these already discounted carbon tubulars: http://www.neuvationcycling.com/product/neuvation-c55-carbon-tubular-set-1495.htm

The discount code only pulls up a 10% discount - might want to contact him directly?

I did and this is what John wrote to me.If Jim has a 20% off coupon or something - awesome.

@jim Nelson - bring on the 20%
