Shit! I just discovered a tiny crack in my top tube. The frame is carbon. It looks pretty superficial, and is only about 1.5cm long, but I would like to get it fixed before it splinters any further. Anyone have any experience with getting carbon repaired/painted around here? Who's the best?

Meh, don't worry about that crack. Most of the tubes on a carbon bike are just there for show anyway. Probably to comply with the UCI "two triangle" regulations for frames.

By any crack or feared break in the frame, you can do the "coin tap" test. Take a quarter and tap the frame on the crack and then on either side. If the structure is damaged the sound should change. If not, it shouldn't.

When you look for new tubulars next season, I'd like to recommend Clement's MXP. It's a great all condition tire, and so far seems to be much more durable than the challenge type tires with fancy sidewalls.Marc Bertucco said:More tubular tire woes. They are tubeless and supposedly will have fewer flats. The sidewalls are way more durable. No issues with treads peeling off.
They are probably not as supple as tires with nice sidewalls, but I'm willing to take that tradeoff. I feel like the extra supple sidewall is only beneficial if you're willing to go extra extra low pressure anyway.

I've been using Tufo for years. Also tubeless. Very, very few flats.
Though a more supple casing should benefit you at all times. Basically at a given pressure, the more supple casing will flex more, thus giving you more traction. You could even, theoretically, use slightly more pressure if the casing is more supple.
But it's only worthwhile if you don't flat. Running or riding a flat to the pit will almost certainly cost you more in a race than the better casing.

I was just adjusting my front Cantis when cable stop that holds spans the wheel snapped. Is there anything I can do short of replacing the cable? If not, is there support at whirleybird?

So my 3 ride weekend went pop Saturday , the sidewall completely blew out on my challenge rear ttubularI'm about to order a new one I think I read somewhere that some folks use a fango on the rear and a griffo on the front

Go with clement mxps. Much more durable tubeless tubular construction. I'm running 2 sets and they are great.
