@Nathaniel Picard Busky
Used to ride there all the time with the Norco Range.  Fun trails and nicely maintained.  Fun times!
Legs are fried after 10 miles of riding at Sterling Forest with @jim_nelson

we even manage to bump into Phil on our way home
Great place to ride - I would definitely go there again. Fun mix of rocky technical and flowy fast.

Today was Meadowlark Park out on LI. Smallish - we rode for a couple hours and hit everything at least twice. Some fun features, some typical LI trail handlebar squeezers between trees, rooty and windy.

Beautiful fall day at Cunningham ,
210th st side unrecognizable since my last visit ,
so many trees have been cut down, trails felt brand new , anybody know who cuts them down, parks department or Climb ? And what the reasoning behind it is?
Crazy what a desolate moonscape that section of Cunningham looks like now. It is the parks department that is cutting things down. I saw a sign up when I was there a week or two ago. Seemed like they were cutting things back and letting new vegetation take hold. Ironically, without all the vegetation I had a harder time recognizing which way to go on the trail.
I saw a crew leaving with chainsaws and clippers and such early last week as I was riding in. I thanked them as I rode by and almost immediately questioned whether their work deserved my appreciation given the desolation I faced ahead. I'm sure the work has been completed now but geez it sure was rough during the process.
Cross posting from Slack:

Mark and I are going to hit the Graham Hills trails on MTB bikes this Sunday morning (11/10). Leave Brooklyn 6:30 and back before noon.  I am driving and can fit at least one more bike in the truck. Can we get a crew? And yes, I know SCCX is on Sunday but I can't really justify being gone til late afternoon. Not sure why the NJCX series promoters decided that old guys wanted to race later in the day.

Keep me informed about any potential outings during the month of December because I have still to take my hardtail for the first time out in the woods.

Same! Wish I could make it this weekend, Graham Hills is a ton of fun. Be cognizant of blazes when you're on the Blue ring trail especially, they're not terribly frequent, unfortunately.
Yes, hope to get in some good times in the woods this winter.
Thanks Nate - noted.

Another great morning in the woods. Graham Hills is a great mix of up and down, rocky, some quite technical spots, and some flowey bits. Mark and I decided it was definitely a place to go back to - lots of challenges that could up one's skills significantly.

Rock-n-Roll

Great day , left the park realizing much still to learn and scrapes on both shins
@jim_nelson I will join you guys one of these days but I rode with my buddy Rich out in LI at the Overton Preserves. This is next door Glacier Ridge. Part of it was formerly a paintball field so came across some familiar bunkers, and it skirts an active paintball field High Velocity, so you'll see plane fuselage at some point. Short, about 5-6 miles depending on if you do all the black diamond sections. Super fast and flowy and non-technical. Almost like a mini-version of Rocky Point.

Rode Overton a while back. We ended up crossing the road and riding Glacier for a while too.

Let's hope for a dry(ish) winter so we can keep hitting the trails.
I went out to Stillwell this weekend, I need better recommendation of LI trails. I am getting sick of the same old trails I rode since High school
Despite Connor being sick of it, we are going to head to Stillwell this Saturday morning if anyone wants to join. Leave Brooklyn about 6:30.
Doing Rainey this Saturday.
@jim_nelson i think i will join you actually at Stillwell. Meet at 7:30 at Trailview State park?

Yeah!!!!!
Awesome. Sure - that's the lot right off Jericho Turnpike correct?
Phil - another buddy is coming along and he says its better to park at the lot off South Woods Road across from the High School by the baseball fields. Let's park there.
That's by the soccer field? That's fine i'll be there. I only suggested Trailview to add an extra couple of miles of trail.

Yes, by the fields. See you there.
@jim_nelson @Mark Taylor guys I'm going to skip the ride tomorrow.. Keith only has two people helping him with setup tomorrow morning at Rainey and I'm going to help out.
Phil - we missed you. Cold when we first started = our finger were frozen - but it warmed up nicely. Great to get into the woods for a bit.
Mark and I are going to do a couple hours at Cunningham tomorrow morning. Arrive 7:15ish. Join us if you can. You can text me at 917 922 0812.
