Sorry, Sagan WAS the most marketable name in cycling. There have been new Sheriffs in town for a while.

It is always a though bet in sport, as Sagan has the same talent and potential he's always had, and if he reaches it, he should be just a marketable as ever -- but even than is questionable.

Of course, if he keeps riding like the last couple of seasons, well, good luck old Sheriff.

Yeah I think Sagan is going to go the way of Froome and Cav. I wouldn’t be surprised if he end up on ISN or Bahrain.

ISN and Bahrain both have the dough to float a rider like Sagan but I don't count him out nearly as much as Froome or Cav.

Short of a disqualification he's still basically unbeatable in the TDF green jersey competition, although Bennet will give him a run for his money this year.

MVDP posted up his Ronde ride on strava (including power). 344 NP for 6hrs (basically, the length of my work day today) is mind blowing.

The UCI never fails to amaze me with it's invention and enforcement of petty, nonsensical and capriciously enforced rules.

i think the intent of the  rule is actually a good idea , the amount of litter discarded is crazy after these races 
but really , just put the “without due care” wording back in 
which allows discretion from the commissioners

Yeah I agree the rules’s intent is good. Idk if it’s possible but it would be nice to have some discretion with the punishment. Like at Flanders, clearly no one was in danger, the race result was unaffected and the bottle was def not littered. If anything, I think a fine would have been more fair. 

They started giving out fines in 2019 TDF and it did nothing to slow it down, so I think UCI is like "oh yeah F you" because we all know pettiness is high on their priority list.

Throw a gel wrapper, instant DQ; run someone into the barriers at 70kph and you lose your too ten spot. Dope, fix races or crash someone out on purpose? Meh.

Definitely strange to take a dig by omitting the TDF's but then why leave out "disgraced, cheater, banned for life, etc?"

I think people love or hate armstrong , both of which i think he gets off on, this summary makes him sound like just another good pro rider not the polarizing figure he is, which is why i think its a genius backhanded compliment

Awesome! Not the most stellar field at the Tour of Turkey but I feel like it's good for him to learn how to win again.

I admit I've held a grudge against Cav ever since he crashed Sagan out of the TDF, but I'll be damned if he isn't making me a fan of sprinting - something I've never been. This is the most feel-good story in road cycling right now.
