Erraaaaa..... I took out my tubulars today to examine them and there was a small piece of glass imbedded in the rear.  I used some tweezers to take it out...but....a few minutes later...pffffffff.....can I seal this small hole with some stan's sealant?

How wide is the cut?  Stans has some guidelines for that.

Well...Patrick hooked me up with a can of Vittoria Pitstop...it worked.  Sealed...did some laps around the block...no air bubbles

The flooding around the park is still pretty severe, I would not be surprised if the race is called off.

Right now, a crew to drain the lake at the bottom of the hill is needed. Better to get organized this afternoon than at midnight...

Just did some scouting with Charlie now; it looks about the same as last year please holler if you're available to do any of the following:

Pick up a sump pump (or two) today

^basically the real lake is overflowing; the water is coming from at least two places from the lake; our hope is that if we can clear the "popup" lake the existing drainage can keep up with the overflow.

Last year we were able to rental a sump pump at Home Depot.  I believe the 24hr rate was $25-50.  I don't think I can get out of work early enough tonight so if someone has access to a car, please call ahead to Home Depot, see if there are any available, and bring it to the park.  The club will be happy to reimburse you - contact me (treasurer) with a receipt.

As important is securing a generator to plug the pump into.  I believe Charlie may have one?  I forget if we were able to use a car's 12volt adapter...Jules?

I'm planning on being there to help where I can.  I won't be able to get there until 6, I think.  I have a bucket I'll bring.  I rode through it this morning, and it's flowing.

I can be there by 7 and happy to lend a hand. I don't have anything in terms of tools, but I'm a mean sweeper and digger.

Charlie has a generator.

I can't be there...but I can kick in some cabbage for the efforts of those who can.  Pass the helmet after the race and I'll throw some cash in.

@Gwynna, just bring that enthusiastic and booming voice of yours--a greater traffic director we could never find!

The nearest subway stops would be either Prospect Park ( Q) or 15th street (F)

Okay, I'm gonna be the dumb Manhattanite - but where on the map is the bottom of the downhill? I'll be on foot, not bike, so would like to find the nearest subway/bus stop.

The B&Q prospect park stop is closest to the start / finish. About a minute away on the bike.
