I think it's a great time of year to have the race. Similar date to the world championship, which is pretty much what this is.
I am gutted to miss the KCC Whirled Shampionchips, but I will be at the New England World Championships in Gloucester. Otherwise this would have been mine.

Here, you all can steal what would have been my plan: Sit on Vlad to make it to any decisive break and sit on Malcolmson or Lenny for the sprint. Easy as pie.
I think its Malcolmson's year.  He probably would have snagged it last year if hadn't let the Big Ragot take that jersey winning flyer.
Don't rub it in, Yacks. Do you really think a day goes by when J-Wrong doesn't ruefully shake his upside down Kiwi fist at the heavens (in his southerly homeland that's the ground) for allowing the only sufficiently large draft on the club to ride up the road alone to glory?

But I applaud you for making the first prediction, albeit a clumsy one.

Some factors you might have failed to consider:

DaSilva just got back from the UK with some stiff elbows and serious leg speed. Konrad has been revelatory this year, making all of his Cat. 3 USAC licenses seem suspect. Ros has dominated every track sprint he's participated in by multiple bike lengths. Will the club's breakaway artist Adam roll up to the line still inebriated from the night before? Can Mattie make it out this year? Has Dale been training? Condon? Niall? Erica?!

This shit is wide open, Yacks. Even you have a sliver of a chance at some custom Champ-Sys threads.
Me with a shot at the title....now don't go all cattywumpus  on me now.

yeah...that's the ticket
...I do have a plan that involves neither hard interval work or tapering...I plan on putting 4 cans of sealant in my tubbies and riding last wheel for most of  the race ...then I'll drop a shit ton of tacks across the road with 2 to go...and solo in for a victory of Machiavellian proportions.

flyer? straight up sprint!
Whatever you want to call it.....it worked
As I recall, I was the one who took the suicide flyer, and the bunch chased me.

Marc was the first to blow by me around the start of the little hill before the sprint and the train dragging Ragot to victory soon followed!

Even though I haven't even had a Yack-a-delic's chance in hell to place in this thing, I have always loved it. One of the most fun and safest races all season. Can't make it this year. Enjoy!
I'm thinking the braggodocio exhibited here is puffery that will blind most people to the real threat.  Erika Tarte has not been slowed down by anything, and is off everyone's radar.

I will not be racing ,but would love to volunteer for something
The real threat will be the putrid stench of Adam's hangover.  Stay off his wheel.
(cross posting, cause he, it's CX season!)

Hey Ladies... KCC club champs are a coed affair so if you haven't already checked out the thread or committed to knobby tires for the season then mark a big red "KCC" in your calendar next weekend because it's one event you don't want to miss.

To quote Erika from last year "I broke every single park Strava I had in the first lap... "

This race is usually a riot of trash talk and camaraderie for the first lap before the fireworks start. So. Much. Fun!

Registration is day-of only.

Start/Finish line still at the new spot or back at the triangle?

I think all future starts & finishes will be at the "new" 3rd street location, but we should get confirmation from Charlie.
The 3rd street locale... I have some insight into how to position and pace yourself up that climb coming into the sprint...I will share this with everybody...at 8:00 a.m.  Sunday...
^apparently crooning old Sinatra songs is part of the secret...
Confirmed, 3rd street start/finish
Unfortunately I'll have to sit this one out. If it comes down to sprint then Whitey's round-up nails it — add Yellow jersey Rigby and in-form leader-outer Yang to that fight... Bertucco if he's not Xing. I'd give the edge to Da Silva, if he can make it to the finish he should have the most speed.

BUT I predict the winner comes out of a JP (looking strong) initiated break — Dale, Vlad, Nialls, Jules, Adam. A combination of any three of these guys up the road will be trouble.
Unfortunately I'll have to sit this one out.
Nooooo!  I need you there.

We all do!
I don't "need" his sprint there...the one that starts about 1K out,  that nobody can come around.
the registration for the club championship is close. So i need to race on the cat4 division?
