Again, enjoyed immensely, specially hearing spanish in the context of bike racing. It is a great look at how hard it can be to get a rider high up on general classification. Way harder than it seems, when we watch the races.

Something that did stick out was how disorganized and unprepared, and how little redundancy, the directors in the cars appeared to be. Most racing mistakes can be chalked up to them.

For example, my job can be full on chaotic, but would be in so much trouble if my teams/squads were so unprepared and unsuccessful.

It also suggests how important strategy, direction, and execution are at the grand tour or pro tour level. There is no room for extra anything, the races are so taxing, that it is basically impossible to recover from a mistake.

Watched 3 episodes. It hurt me to see the chaos and the lack of composure from the directors. I also wonder if the riders enjoy the constant loud talking on the radio. I wouldn't.

haha, completely sure they are not on the radio 100% of the time, these days are usually 4 to 6 hours long, I am sure the edits only show when they are actually talking, else is kinda boring, they even show a little of the boring part and them sometimes napping a bit in the car.

Agree. I also don't think, if he gets yellow, that he would defend for as long as possible, a day or two maybe, and then like a badger, MVdP don't care. Olympic gold looms.

Enjoyed watching this. Made me realize two things:

Many of these guys are at work. This is their day job.

If I was in many of these situations I'd be shitting my pants. Like here - in a fast moving peleton a dozen inches from the building wall. Damn.

Yesterday, when I read Lefevere reference Merckx's 34 Tour win record (and Cav being at 30) I thought it was ridiculous that Cav would win more Tour stages. I am not so sure anymore

Sam Bennet and his knee seem poised to make a fairytale. It’s impossible not to root for Cav at this point
