Kudos to Roskof!
Kyle Murphy finishes in the podium!!
is Lawson Craddock in the best form of his life?
k
When I saw Rosskopf was leaving the WorldTour, I assumed he'd follow the well-worn path of guys stepping down and disappearing after a forgettable year on a 2nd tier squad.  It was surprising that Rally picked up not one but three riders from the WorldTour, and none of them seem to be disappearing (Rosskopf, Nathan Brown, Ben King).   Rosskopf was killing it at Tour de Suisse.

At first, looking at the finale, it looked like the major protagonists were all fresh of blocks of Euro racing.  But Alexi Vermeulen has essentially been self-sponsored and doing gravel racing this year.

I think Craddock is showing great form.  At the same time, it seems only incrementally better than he was a few years ago--he was in the mix toward the end of the worlds in England, and was doing well at long breaks at that time, too.

Phil Gaimon, who may or may not think rape is a joking matter has an advocacy video:

I'm so fucking pissed off watching this video. Reminds me of all the times psychotic assholes have tried to run me over for simply riding bikes on public roads.

It’s amazing how just watching gets my HR up
On this past Sunday's Ride, we had a number of people honk at us for what seemed like no particular reason.  Near the end of the ride, one person laid on the horn a good bit, and then when the driver passed me, it sure seemed like he swerved in my direction to make a point.  I was on the shoulder, the lane was wide, and the car came to teh shoulder and then moved back out toward the double-yellow.

At the time, I was annoyed more than feeling threatened.

It's happened many times over the course of my riding life.

It's a weird thing.  I feel if I'm going to ride on the roads, I can't let these things get me too angry.  But at the same time, it's normalizing people threatening with deadly weapons.  Waving a gun at someone just because you don't like what they're doing is not justified in any way, shape or form.  It shouldn't be acceptable.  But I don't know what it's going to take for that to become unacceptable.
I agree with JP.
But this whole incident escalated in my opinion because of the cyclists, who were riding two abreast on a narrow section of road , the fact that its a short section and you can take Ventura blvd if your in a hurry , is irrelevant .
He hit his horn , how hard we don't know, their is a chance he thought he was being nice and giving them a warning , Then he gets flipped off , Share the road , means just that .
What happen after that, well obviously is terrible,

So many stories, so many bad feels. Stay safe y'all. Gravel is the new road.

People actually hydrate with milk?
I wonder what portion of the pro peloton is completely non-dairy? I'm guessing at least half.
True story: I love milk and was hooked on skim since I was a kid when my mom stopped buying full fat for the house (it was the 80s/90s). I chugged skim milk through most of my adulthood when Jeff W. found out on a car ride to some race - probably Branchbrook - and convinced me I was losing out for not drinking full fat. 6 or 7 years later and I'm still drinking full fat and it is part of my "recovery meal" diet.

Being one of the minuscule percentage of a percentage of people of east asian/korean descent who are not lactose intolerant, I feel like I owe it to my peoples to enjoy the hell out of dairy products!
Been thinking about Jules' speculation.

I'd guess it's actually a high percentage.

For the distances they ride, full-fat yogurt and drinks as well as cheese on pasta and/or race helps pile on the calories.

@David Yang  I, too, had parents who switched to skim before I realized there was a difference.  As an adult, I decided I wanted the flavor and haven't looked back.  I prefer whole milk yogurt, too.
I grew up guzzling and I mean guzzling milk. It was only a couple of years ago that I discovered that having shooting belly pains after a meal was not (ahem) normal and that if I cut dairy out my belly never hurt. We now have a large box of lactaid in kitchen. I'm not sure I buy all the "inflammatory diet" stuff but it's made my life a bit easier.
The men’s Olympic RR is on in 5min!

Streaming on https://www.nbcolympics.com/ if you (or a friend/ family member) have a cable log in. I’m sure it’s streaming free elsewhere too…
Made my own goofy ride video which I referenced in “Kissena around the world thread"

Kind of a bummer that 5/9 of NBC’s highlight videos are about crashing, but they do have some good recaps of the track events.

They do some interesting deep dives on bike related patents, including things like electronic (disc) brakes.
