I've been on a generic carbon frame for the last 3ish year's and it's been great. At this point, I think most people would be really surprised at the quality you can get without a name brand.

I'd be curious to know how he got that frame. Was it sent for free? Cause if so, I wouldn't be surprised if it was meticulously inspected.

When the 1/2/3 races are at full gas, we're pretty close to 70kph going down the hill. And the same can be written about the drop from W85th street in Central Park. Saving two meters or more every lap might add up to a real savings.

But I'm (largely) kidding. It should be a reminder to all to go with the most aero tops whenever possible. In terms of helmets, I do wonder about over heating. For a sprint stage and a sprinter, sure they probably should risk the extra heat stress to have an edge in the final sprint. And for our races, we rarely race long enough and probably don't climb enough for overheating to be an issue in a race. (I seem to be talking myself into an aero helmet, but even with the Protone, I often get sweat dripping into my right eye in races, even on cool days)
