'Lecrtic unicycle... what could possibly go wrong?
May 17, 2013 at 12:54 PM
Ha...little known fact...before I was a nurse...I had a gig writing catalog copy for Hammacher Schlemmer.
Clicked on another product while checking at the Unicycle though and if this works:
http://www.hammacher.com/Product/Default.aspx?sku=83485&refsku=12208&xsp=4&promo=xsells
this seems kind of cool.

I saw a guy with that in the park, it wasn't very bright. But it was semi-daylight. I like the idea though. Some cars seem to take pride in trying to pass as closely as possible...

@ Marc; I recently saw an interesting bike-light solution; somehow the front half of the front wheel was lit white, which the back half of the rear wheel was lit red... guy blew by too fast to see what the apparatus was but it might take the throne for best solution ahead of those monkey lights

the Tour of California finishes on my favorite climb, Mount Diablo today. Live coverage starts at 5. I think I did this climb in under 58 minutes once. I can't wait to watch these dudes do it in 45 minutes (after riding 80 miles to get there).

Loving this pic of the Badger. You don't want to meet those furry eyebrows in a dark alley.

@Perlberg. Your favorite climb?! Going up or going down?
Where does the climb start exactly? I will probably do it sometime in the next few days, though I don't promise to report my time.

There are two approaches, but we generally started at the Athenian school in Danville, there was actually a change in the pavement we used as a start / finish line.
2100 Mt Diablo Scenic Blvd
Danville, CA 94506
Take Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd to south gate road and then to summit road. that is the route they used yesterday in TOC. North gate road is/was a much better descent so we would typically head down that way. I think there is a BART stop that provided a much needed bailout point if it was a particularly long day.

I'm surprised that I've yet to see this in Prospect Park, but I'm giving it until the end of the summer at the latest.

yeah david, that's why that video is a joke. but the elliptical bike, http://www.elliptigo.com/, isn't SUPPOSED to be a joke because, i guess it uhh....uses different muscles and stuff and is easier on the knees than running. and i must say if i had to choose doing an elliptical indoors staring at a TV or outdoors, i'd choose the latter. or i'd just get on a bike.
